Easiest Blueberry Compote Recipe

The easiest blueberry compote ever, peeps.  Like seriously, even SGB could do this (and he can barely boil water!).  You can actually do this with any type of frozen berries I would think, but we always have a lot of frozen blueberries on hand. 

Easy Blueberry Compote

1 pkg frozen blueberries

Maple syrup (optional, to taste)

Cinnamon (optional, to taste)

All you gotta do is pour the bag of blueberries into a non-stick pan, and simmer on high until boiling.  Once you see bubbles, turn the temp to low simmer. Keep it on a low simmer until it starts to congeal. Add maple syrup and cinnamon to taste!  Store in an airtight container for 1 week. Do not refreeze.

NOTE ON BLUEBERRIES:   Actually, all berries are a great nutrient dense food (low in calories,high in nutrients) so they are great to eat alone or add to foods.  Blueberries in particular are high in fiber and vitamins C, and K, and are 84% water. They are also an amazing source of antioxidants, so eat ‘em up!
